Man, 21, arrested for stabbing 18-yr-old boy to death in Ogun

The Police in Ogun State has said that it has arrested a 21 years old suspected murderer, who stabbed another person to death at Ope-Ilu, Agbado area of Ifo Local Government in the state.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the state Command, ASP Abimbola Oyeyemi, in a statement copy of which he sent to The DEFENDER Wednesday night, said, named the suspected killer as Isreal Oluranti while the other stabbed to death by him was also named as Farooq Olusegun, a male person of 18 years.

“The incident occurred at Ope-Ilu area of Agbado Ifo local government area of Ogun State on the 25th of December. Trouble started when an argument ensued over a missing phone of which the deceased accused the suspect of been in his possession. This infuriated the suspect consequent upon which he took one of the beer bottles around, broke it and stabbed the deceased on the chest.

“He was quickly rushed to a nearby hospital but gave up the ghost before reaching the hospital. The father of the victim Kolawole Abiola lodged the complaint at Agbado Divisional Headquarter and the DPO CSP Omonijo Sunday detailed Police detectives to the scene where the suspect was promptly arrested,” Oyeyemi said.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered the immediate transfer of the case to Homicide Section of State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for discreet investigation.
