Ogun Security: Man arrested for kidnapping 2 children

Efforts by the Ogun State Police Command to rid the Gate Way State of all kinds of crime continue to pay off as operatives of the command have apprehended yet another kidnapper.

The state police command, in a statement issued on Wednesday in Abeokuta by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said it had arrested a 28-year-old man, named Abiodun Joseph, for kidnapping two children in the names, Tobiloba Aleshiloye, female, 12, and Yussuf Kudus, male, 8.

According to the statement, “The suspect who resides at No 10, Cananland, Sango Ota abducted the two children on the 15th of September, 2017 and took them to unknown place from where he started demanding the sum of #150,000 per child from the parents of the abducted children.

“The case was reported to the Police at Agbara Division and detectives were detailed to be on trail of the kidnapper. Technical investigation was conducted and the hideout of the suspect was located in a hotel at Ojoo area of Ibadan and the place was stormed by detectives where the suspect was arrested and victims rescued unhurt.

“The Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Iliyasu has ordered the immediate transfer of the case to Anti-kidnapping/Cultist Unit of the Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department. While the two children have been re-united with their parents. The CP also appealed to members of the public to take security of their children serious in order not to make them victim of kidnappers,” it said.
