Atiku visits El-Rufai, tackles security operatives over arrest attempt

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has visited former Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, after the failed attempt by security operatives to arrest him at the Abuja airport.
The former Vice President, who shared the video of the visit on his Facebook page, also accused agencies of the government of trying to disorganize the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
On Thursday after El-Rufai arrived Nigeria from Cairo, Egypt, attempts were made to arrest him at the airport.
Atiku said, “Last night, I paid a solidarity visit to the former Governor of Kaduna State and stalwart of the African Democratic Congress, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, following the failed attempt to arrest him at the airport upon his arrival in the country.
“He was unfazed by the incident and remains committed to the battle to enthrone a better Nigeria.” The opposition leader said.
According to a video watched by The DEFENDER, Atiku told condemned what he called attempted kidnap of El-Rufai and warned the administration of Bola Tinubu that any attempt to use judiciary to undermine the African Democratic Congress (ADC) like he did to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) wil be strongly resisted.
El-Rufai said he got to know that it was ICPC and EFCC that used the DSS to “abduct me” and hand him over to them and that the chairman of ICPC was doing that on the directive from Nuhu Ribadu.
The former governor said the shameful drama at the airport was now more evident why the political class will not sleep between now and 2027 to ensure that Tinubu is removed from that office.
El-Rufai said they were doing what they were doing because they knew they are not electable.
El-Rufai has been in the news recently following his recent criticism of the present administration and association with the ADC coalition.
He recently raised an alarm that the authorities were planning to arrest him.
