{OPINION} Festus Keyamo and his open hatred to the North

By SHARIFF AMINU AHLAN

With Deputy Senate President and other powerful and fearless politicians like Kawu Sumaila, we wholeheartedly believe that they won’t allow this barbarically programmed and unpopular policy to scale through. Call the arrogant and egocentric minister to order. Let him know that northerners are not meant to be taken for granted.

It is quite absurd, unbecoming, shameless, open hatred blindfolded by ethnicity, irrational, misguided, dubious, satanic and naked display of programmed evil plots to have made a statement in the eyes of the global world, shamelessly stating that the Kano State Airport light should be packed and sent to Lagos Airport because the demand there is more precious to the development of aviation sector and as such should be given utmost priority than the Kano State Airport. A statement from the all powerful Minister of Aviation Barrister Festus Kiyamo.

In a nutshell, it simply means that our airport would no longer be accessible to flights both local and international especially in the night. The Airport would be grounded at night due to planned evacuation of our runway street lights and handed over to overhyped Lagos International Airport as if ours is no longer international. What a shame!

I wonder if this is a reward to the teeming population of the state and the northern part of the country for their undeniable and unparalleled contributions in bringing the current administration on board. A bitter way of paying back our loyalty with evil concocted sabotage. Why would it always be the northern part that are at receiving end of unpopular and destructive policy? The answer is obvious. Despites our undying love, support and loyal to the President, there abound certain elements in the corridor of power who are nursing ulterior motives to undermine and castigate the northern part, and in the process painting our respected President black in the eyes of the teeming populace of the state.

Why is it that money could not be raised to install those lights in which the Minister shamelessly told the viewing world that all the lights were vandalized and stolen in the presence of security personnel paid and employed to safeguard the premises. Could the fault of those disgruntled elements in connivance with the Airport personnel as the Minister claimed be our nemesis?

All thanks to our brave, courageous and fearless Senator Kawu Sumaila, who singlehandedly fight dirty against the unpopular policy few months back when the power that be decided to lease our Airport to chosen individuals. Sentiment aside, truth has to be told despite the fact that we are not from the same party, the entire north saluted and applauded his brave action with outpouring of commendation from all angle.

Now our esteem members of both chambers of the National Assembly should come out en-masse to fight and stop this carnage concocted by this minister who is trying to play God simply because he is accidentally occupying the seat and feeling bigger than everyone.

Our esteem apex chamber members, elites, traditional rules, ulamas and all those representing our noth and our common interest, all eyes are now on you to see if you would allow such grandstanding, flamboyant, arrogant and self-centered tribal irredentist to have his way.

We are watching…
