Obasanjo’s ex-Chief of Staff, Gen Abdullahi is dead

Adamgba, as fondly called, was also a former Military Governor of old Benue-Plateau State 1975 to 1976 during the military regime of General Murtala Mohammed and Founder of National Security Organization now Department of State Services from 1976 to 1979.

General Abdullahi Adamgba Muhammed, the former Chief of Staff to President Olusegun Obasanjo during his civilian administration is dead.

He died at his Abuja residence in the early hours of Wednesday November 5, 2025 at the age of 86.

Adamgba, as fondly called, was also a former Military Governor of old Benue-Plateau State 1975 to 1976 during the military regime of General Murtala Mohammed and Founder of National Security Organization now Department of State Services from 1976 to 1979.

As a retired military officer, Abdullahi Mohammed served as National Security Adviser to General Abdulsalami Abubakar from 1998 to 1999 and Chief of Staff to Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Umaru Musa Yar’Adua from 1999 to 2008.
