PDP loses Assembly member, supporters to APC in Zamfara

The lawmaker said he and his supporters assured that they would do whatever it takes for APC to win 2027 general election.
Peoples Democratic Party ((PDP)’s member representing Maradun II Constituency in the Zamfara State House of Assembly, Hon. Maharuzu Salisu Faru, has defected to the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC).
Hon. Faru disclosed this while addressing party officials and his supporters at the APC office in Gusau, on Tuesday October 28, 2028.
He said his to dump the PDP for APC was due to his dissatisfaction with PDP’s policies and programme towards developing the rural areas particularly his constituency.
He further said that of all the political offices shared to politicians who have contributed in bringing PDP government to power in Zamfara State, nothing was given to his constituency, despite contributing enormously to success of the government.
Faru said, “So far, not a single reasonable project is being executed in his constituency.”
The lawmaker said he and his supporters assured that they would do whatever it takes for APC to win 2027 general election.
Receiving the defectors, the Zamfara State APC Chairman, Alhaji Tukur Dan Fulani Maikatako, assured them of total support and cooperation towards integration into APC family.
He appealed to the APC supporters to remain steadfast and united as more people are trouping into the party for dividend of democracy both at the national and state levels.
Alhaji Danfulani thanked the Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Matawalle, and Senator AbdulAziz Abubakar Yari, both former governors of the state, for the support and logistics they had been rendering to the party and it’s supporters and party to carry out its daily activities.
