Wadatau Madawaki called on all teachers to redouble their efforts as government would not condole any act that would derail its determination to reposition educational systems in the state as contained in its rescue agenda.

The Zamfara State government has reinstated 103 teachers out of the 780 earlier relieved of their positions.

This was disclosed by the state Commissioner of Education, Science and Technology, Mallam Wadatau Madawaki, while speaking to journalists in his office in Gusau, on Friday October 17, 2025.

He said “the reinstated teachers were re-screened and reverified after series of complaint by the affected teachers and discovered that they were mistakenly removed from the payroll and His Excellency graciously approved their reinstatement.”

According to Commissioner Madawaki, “Several teachers were illegally or illegitimately smuggled into the system. Some were even under-age while others were completely always absent from duty and engaged in doing double work as verified by the verification committee.

“The reinstated teachers were found to be genuine teachers who were always on their duty post and would be paid all their entitlements from January to date.,” he said.

The Commissioner reiterated government commitment to ensuring that teachers are properly catered for in the state.

Wadatau Madawaki called on all teachers to redouble their efforts as government would not condole any act that would derail its determination to reposition educational systems in the state as contained in its rescue agenda.

He commended Governor Dauda Lawal for considering the plight of the affected teachers.
