Israel continues Gaza City attacks, as Qatar hosts Arab-Muslim World leaders summit

Qatar is hosting a summit of Arab and Muslim leaders on Sunday September 14 and Monday September 15, 2025 to plot a course of action after Israel’s “cowardly” attack on Doha.

But an analytical look at the development revealed there would be no ‘concrete’ action to come out of the Qatar summit, as Israel continued his genocide mission across Ghaza.

This is as Adel Abdel Ghafar, senior fellow and director of foreign policy at the Middle East Council on Global Affairs, said the summit in Qatar was “more about a message of solidarity” but that there wwa no expectation of action.

“Concrete action can come actually out of the Gulf countries working together to look at their security architecture and deal with the US on a united front,” Ghafar according to a media report.

“I think the Gulf countries want to, first, have more robust security guarantees either through treaties or deeper engagement with the US. Secondly, they’d want to diversify some of these security partnerships and also grow their indigenous domestic defence capability. And perhaps leverage the investments that they’ve had in the US,” Abdel Ghadar said.

He added that Trump left the region in May following a visit with “two trillion dollars” of investments that can be used to put pressure on Washington.

Spokesperson for the Secretary-General of Arab League, Jamal Rushdi, had earlier said the summit in Doha carried a message of full solidarity with Qatar.

Rushdi told the Qatar News Agency (QNA) that the summit would primarily discuss the consequences of Israel’s attack on Qatar’s sovereignty and was expected to express complete solidarity from Arab and Islamic countries with Qatar and in defence of international law, which outlines that mediators should not be targeted.

The spokesperson added that the summit would represent a message to the world that rejects Israel’s actions and refuses to accept the logic of the law of the jungle in the region.

He also stressed the need for the international community to shoulder its responsibility in curbing Israel’s reckless behaviour.
