Iran’s delegation in Iraq demands expulsion of American forces from Middle East
A high-level Iranian parliamentary delegation visiting Iraq has strongly condemned the presence of American troops in the country, calling for their immediate withdrawal.
This call comes amidst the ongoing rising tension in the Middle East, especially the ongoing face off between the American Government, the Israeli regime, and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran under the leadership of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
According to a report by the Iran News Agency on Wednesday 23 July, 2025, Ebrahim Rezaei, the Spokesperson for the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Islamic Republic of Iran, revealed that Iranian lawmakers raised the issue during a meeting with representatives from Karbala province in the Iraqi Parliament, noting that the discussions underscored growing regional tensions and Iran’s push to counter American influence in the Middle East.
He also disclosed that during the talks, Iranian Member of the Parliament, Mahmoud Nabavian presented a detailed report on Israel’s recent unprecedented strikes on Iranian nuclear and missile facilities, which reportedly killed senior military figures and nuclear scientists, emphasizing that the attacks were carried out with direct American support.
In his words, Ebrahim Rezaei said “The delegation raised the issue of the U.S. troop presence in a meeting with the representatives of Karbala province in the Iraqi Parliament on Wednesday Iranian Lawmaker Mahmoud Nabavian, during the meeting presented a report on the 12-day defense of the Iranian nation in an unprovoked war launched by the Israeli regime against the Islamic Republic.”
“The report clarified that all the actions of the Zionist regime were with the direct orders and support of the Americans and distinguishing Israel from and the United States is a strategic mistake, it also highlighted the untrustworthiness of the U.S. and Israel’s desire for territorial expansion,” the Iranian lawmaker underlined.
On the other hand, Ali Khazerian, another lawmaker pointed to Israeli use of Iraqi skies to carry out its offensive airstrikes against the territory of Iran which resulted in the death of several innocent civilians, calling it a violation of the Arab country’s sovereignty, and that a serious response should be given to such violation.
He also urged the Iraqi officials that they should take decisive action against such breaches, reinforcing Iran’s stance that American forces enable Israeli military operations in the region.
