US strikes have ‘blown up’ diplomacy – Iran FM

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has criticized the United States following its military strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, declaring that the attack has destroyed any prospects for ongoing diplomatic engagement.

Araghchi said in a post on X that the US had derailed negotiations not once, but twice in recent weeks, first through Israeli military actions and now through direct American intervention.

“Last week, we were in negotiations with the US when Israel decided to blow up that diplomacy. This week, we held talks with the E3/EU when the US decided to blow up that diplomacy,” he wrote. “What conclusion would you draw?”

His comments come as the international community, including the UK and European Union, continues to urge Iran to re-engage in nuclear talks aimed at de-escalating tensions in the region.

But Araghchi dismissed those appeals, questioning their logic. “How can Iran return to something it never left, let alone blew up?” he said.
