(Nigerian Politician)

Born: 16 February 1960 (Daudawa, Faskari LGA, Katsina State, Nigeria).

1976: Graduated from Barewa College, Zaria.

1980: Graduated from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria with a bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying (1st class honours).

1984: Received a Master of Business Administration from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

1982 – 1998: Founded and managed El-Rufai & Partners, a quantity surveying consulting firm with three partners.

▪︎ In addition to his practice, held management positions with two international telecommunications companies, AT&T Network Systems International BV and Motorola Inc.

1998: Resigned as managing partner, El-Rufai & Partners.

1998 – 1999: Economic Advisor to then Nigerian Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar.

1999 – 2003: Inaugural Director General of the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE), and Secretary of the National Council of Privatisation (NCP).

2003 – 2007: Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja.
