The DEFENDER’s Ibrahim Kanoma, others named in Defence Minister’s Committee on security reportage

The Zamfara State Correspondent of global online newspaper, The DEFENDER, Comrade Ibrahim Kanoma, has been appointed Vice Chairman II of a committee on North West security reportage, set up by Correspondents Chapel of the Nigeria Union Of Journalists (NUJ), Zamfara State Council, in partnership with the Office of the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle.
It was gathered that this former part of the resolves reached after a security tour embarked upon by the minister, conducting Journalists round, during his visit to the state at the weekend as the committee has a specific task of organizing a training workshop with a view to sensitizing media practitioners on security reportage in the North West.
In a statement issued on Monday by Chairman of the State Correspondents Chapel, Ishaq Zaki Tambuwal, it was said that the sensitization seminar was for journalists and social media influencers.
“The Journalists and social media influencers in North West Geopolitical Zone would form part of the participants to be sensitised on Security Reportage,” it said.
The statement further said the participants would be from both print and electronic media drawn from across the region.
The statement said the committee was to design modalities of the programme.
Other members of the Committee included Umar Muhammad Maradun, who was appointed Chairman, Maiharaji Altine Salah, Vice Chairman I, Comrade Ibrahim Kanoma, Vice Chairman II, Idris Salisu member, Babangida Ibrahim member, Theophilus Darofai, member, and Silas Adamu, also member.
Other members are Sanusi Muhammad, Abdullahi Abdurrahaman Chakwa, Husaini Yero, While Ibrahim Ahmad Gada, to serve as Secretary of the Committee, Aminu Abubakar Mayanchi, as Assistant Secretary, and Aminu Dalhatu as Assistant Secretary.
