2023: Tinubu intensifies effort as campaign structure appoints interim management in Kwara

Although he has continued to deny intention to contest for presidency in the 2023 general elections expected to be zoned to the South, words on the wall continue to strengthen conviction that Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ambition is real.

This is as the Kwara State branch of a campaign group believed to be working for him, Bola Ahmed Tinubu Solidarity Vanguard (BATSV) appointed an Interim Management Team to manage his political structure in the state.

The team is reportedly headed by Dr. Babatunde Salami who was until his appointment the Director of Media and Publicity in the office of the National Chairman.

It also has Dr. Abdul Oba Yusuf, an Associate Professor of Law and Director, Legal and Legislative Matter, Office of the National Chairman as Secretary.

The Special Assistant, Media Office of the National Chairman, Mr. Jimmy Nanyak Lar, stated this in a statement issued on Wednesday.

The media report, however, did not state if the office of the chairman referred to is that if the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to him, “The Interim Management Committee also has representatives from the three Senatorial zones as Otunba Taiwo Joseph for the southern zone, Barrister Aladie for central zone, Mrs Funmilola Adesewa Okiki, representing women while Babatunde Abdulkadir represents the youth wing.

“Other members of the committee are Mr Abel Adewumi, Chief Jimoh Alada, Hon. Sabi Adamu and Hon. Samuel Jimoh.”

He further stated that, “The committee has one month to submit the list of their substantive State, Senatorial and Local Government Executives for inauguration.

“All appointments, according to the National Chairman, Dr. Dare Owotomobi take immediate effect.”
