President Muhammadu Buhari’s Personal Assistant on New Media, Mallam Bashir Ahmad, has said that there are ten governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who are seeking re-election in 2019.

Ahmad said, like President Buhari, Governors of Kano, Katsina and Kaduna states, Abdullahi Ganduje, Bello Masari and Nasir el-Rufai, respectively have no challengers in the party’s governorship primaries in their states.

He made this known on his twitter handle on Friday.

“@BashirAhmaad Ten governors of the governing party, the APC are seeking for re-election in 2019. Like President @MBuhari, Govs of Kano (Ganduje), Katsina (Masari) and Kaduna (el-Rufai) have no challengers in the party’s governorship primaries in their states,” he said.

On the sideline of the politicking, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, has said that Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State was not in any way embattled over issue of governorship ticket of the party.

Oshiomhole’s assertion came as he rallied governors of the party in support of the Lagos governor.

The moves came as Ambode, following his screening in Abuja met with President Muhammadu Buhari in a last-minute move to rally the discontented party base in Lagos to his side.

It was also gathered that governors elected on the platform of the party are rallying round Ambode in order to make him secure the party’s ticket.
