200 Nigerians are now dead from Coronavirus, as NCDC confirms infections jump by 284 to 6,677

The deadly Coronavirus pandemic has now killed 200 Nigerians, after the nation recorded eight fresh deaths on Wednesday.

Figures released by the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, showed that Nigeria’s Coronavirus deaths climbed from 192 on Tuesday to 200 on Wednesday.

Lagos recorded two new deaths on Wednesday to take its total deaths from the virus to 40, while Kano came second with 36 deaths.

Borno recorded 24 deaths, while Katsina and Sokoto both raked in 13 deaths each.

Abuja has nine deaths while Ogun, Edo and Delta have recorded six deaths each. Zamfara and Bauchi also have five deaths each.

Oyo, Kaduna, Rivers, Osun and Kebbi have recorded four deaths apiece since the pandemic broke out.

Jigawa and Gombe have three deaths each, while Ekiti and Akwa Ibom have recorded two deaths each.

Other states, such as Kwara, Plateau, Nasarawa, Yobe, Adamwa, Niger and Ondo have recorded one death apiece.

Breaking: NCDC confirms 284 new cases of Coronavirus, total now 6,677

In the meantime, the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, on Wednesday released 284 fresh cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria, taking the overall total to 6,677.

According to NCDC, Lagos recorded a spike again, with 199 new Coronavirus infections, just as Rivers has 26 fresh cases, Oyo, 19 cases, while FCT and Borno recorded eight new cases each.

Others are: Plateau, six cases, Kano, five; Abia, two, while Ekiti, Delta, Kawa and Taraba recorded one new case each.

The nation recorded eight new Coronavirus death on Wednesday, taking its total deaths to 200.

Also, the nation has successfully managed and discharged 1,840 patients who recovered from the virus.
