Habiba Charity Foundation feeds 600 inmates at Borstal Institute, Abeokuta

“Let’s help these young people because the children of today are the leaders of tomorrow. If we want good leaders tomorrow, we must take care of the kids of today,” the Foundation stated.

The Habiba Charity Foundation, founded in Ogun State, on Saturday July 11, 2026, provided meals for 600 inmates at the Borstal Institute in Adigbe, Abeokuta, Ogun State capital.

The Borstal Institute is a correctional facility for young offenders and, at Weekend event, the beneficiaries expressed joy over the gesture, according to a statement by Engr. Rasheed Ismail, who is Chairman and Founder of the
Habiba Charity Foundation.

In attendance were Dr. Lawal, Special Adviser to the Ogun State Governor on Health, and Professor kamaldeen Olaiya Balogun, An erudite Islamic scholar, educationist and advocate for youth moral development on Ogun State. They both addressed the inmates, offered advice and prayers, after which food was distributed.

Speaking after the event, the Foundation appealed to the general public, NGOs, and well-meaning individuals to join hands with government in supporting young offenders.

“Let’s help these young people because the children of today are the leaders of tomorrow. If we want good leaders tomorrow, we must take care of the kids of today,” the Foundation stated.
