The men of Ogun State Police Command has arrested an Okada man suspected to be armed robber.

Named Prosper Kerry a.k.a. PMAN, the suspect, according to a statement by the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Abimbola Oyeyemi, was arrested when he along with two other members of his gang robbed a hotel and its lodgers in Ogijo, Ogun State using motorcycle.

Oyeyemi said in the statement that, “The suspect who came to Tulamania hotel in Odo-nla area of Ogijo on a motorcycle with two others attacked those who lodged in the hotel and dispossessed them of their properties at gun point.”

Luck however ran against Kerry and his evil colleagues when a team of police anti-robbery squad from Ogijo Division, contacted on distress call, personally led by the DPO Muhammed Tijani, a Superintendent of Police (SP), arrived at the scene and engaged the men of the underworld in gun battle.

At the end of the operation, two of the suspects escaped while Prosper Kerry was arrested with one locally made gun and three live cartridges recovered from him. Recovered from him are one locally made gun and three live cartridges.

The Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, has subsequently ordered Propser Kerry’s immediate transfer to FSARS for discreet investigation while he also ordered a serious manhunt for the escaping gang members with a view to bringing them to book.

This is one of many achievements the Ogun State Police Command has made in recent times, which, The DEFENDER gathered, has mostly been possible due to quick response to distress calls by officers and men of the police in the state.
