“If Buhari not shielding him, I mean Tinubu, how come he has refused to listen to our many calls to probe the bullion van allegation and others or is there any determining factor to choose what corruption allegation can be taken and which one is no go area?” The respondent said.
Things are beginning not to be rosy for the Garrison Commander of Lagos State politics, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as trouble which started with his lead loyalist, Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa, begins to extend to him.
Obasa is currently under serious corruption related troubles with Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) quizzing him on one side while a court in Lagos has just ordered forfeiture of funds linked to the Lagos State Speaker.
For Asiwaju, it was gathered that the dispute between the former Lagos State governor and former Managing Director of Alpha Beta, Oladapo Apara, over sundry issues in the company in which the Asiwaju is believed to have a huge interest, has now gone beyond ordinary.
The matter has now reportedly degenerated into what may lead to an epic legal battle, following the invitation of Tinubu, currently the chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), to appear before the Lagos High Court within 42 days.
The suit taken out by Apara trading under the style Infiniti Systems Enterprises has also joined Mr. Akin Doherty and Alpha Beta Consulting LLP as co-defendants in the suit filed 2nd October, 2020 at the Lagos High Court, Igbosere.
The claimant is asking for an order compelling an account of all sums due to him from 2010 till date and an order tracing all funds and assets due to him from the inception of Alpha Beta as well for payment to him by the defendants, all sums adjudged to be due to him upon the submission of the account.
Following the involvement of Apha Beta in collection of Lagos State revenue, the State’s internally generated revenue has gone up tremendously.
The claimant claimed that the initial agreement was to give him 30 percent but when their relationship went sour, the defendants refused to pay him his share.
The claimant therefore reported the matter to the EFCC before filing this action claiming that Apha Beta has not been paying taxes.
No date has been fixed for hearing in the case.
Tinubu has been having things rough since he allegedly confirmed receiving cash by bullion van on election day during the governorship poll of April 2019, an act that was considered as contravening the electoral law.
Many of the mouth wagging against President Muhammadu Buhari’s government is because his critics say he is just one clean man amidst many other corrupt people around him as party people.
Respondents said Tinubu’s actions account for more of the allegations that Buhari government is leveled with, as one of them said “if Buhari not shielding him, I mean Tinubu, how come he has refused to listen to our many calls to probe the bullion van allegation and others or is there any determining factor to choose what corruption allegation can be taken and which one is no go area?”
